I was told to take my desk top pc to my local store located in Mid-Town Manhattan and they told me I had a hardware failure? I said the machine was fine until I put your rotten Win 10 disk in my PC. I was told by their tech specialist that my MOBO blew up! I said what! How can that be!? The machine ran like a fine Swiss watch on Win 7 pro..

I was told that the machine must now go out for further Diagnosis on hardware and how much it is going to cost me!!!! So far and change for Win 10 O. I told the Microsoft Rep that your OS 10 is destroying perfectly good machines. This Desktop cost me plus!! All you have to do is google " Win 10 Destroyed my motherboard and the case is closed. There are countless lawsuits pending class action just do a search.. I will follow up with this store and my comment about my Microsoft experience when they call me with the results.

When I entered the key to activate Windows, I got an error stating "product key already entered," and would not allow me to activate Windows I understand this may seem hyperbolic, but I just want to warn other people out there building your own PC--this will not activate Windows on your newly built PC booted from a USB, and this product is essentially defective.

It is for fresh builds only, and is the same version of Windows that computer manufacturers use to install to prebuilt laptops, desktops etc. Also the System Builder license will be locked to your motherboard meaning it cannot be transferred from one system to another. Unless you contact Microsoft and they make an exception for you. It also is not eligible for free upgrades to the latest versions of Windows, you still get Windows 10 updates though.

So for people building their own PC this option is the better choice. You just will need to have a CD reader handy as this is sold by disc only.

Install is very easy, and if you are having trouble head to YouTube, there are many easy and helpful tutorial videos available on there. I decided to base this review on the System Builder install instead of the overall Windows 10 Home experience, which for the most part I really like anyways.

But for a cheaper option for getting Windows 10 Home I highly recommend this product. Ordered this software "Sold by Data Marketing and Electronics inc", and received what looked to be legitimate Microsoft software. The installation went as expected on my new computer build, but Microsoft couldn't authenticate the software. The error message said that the license code provided with this software was already in use, even though I had never tried to install it on any other device.

It gave this message the first time I tried to use the code, and I made sure that I was using the exact code provided in the software packaging. Will avoid buying anything sold by "Data Marketing and Electronics inc" in the future.

Purchased this for a brand new build. Package was perfect and all sealed properly. I had to scratch the label to reveal the product key, but still, Windows cannot activate. I read the review only after purchase and was hoping to received a genuine key. Yet another instance of product key already installed on another device.

Reading back the product page description, nowhere is mentioned this product is shipped with a void product key. Defective product, it's borderline fraud. Getting refunded. Customer service was quick to assist. It is cheap and the disc works. However the product key was no good. Customer service was quick to assist, but no product codes they offered worked either. Be wary of getting operating systems from this seller as you might find yourself regretting it. That W10 key was accepted during install but activation failed and Microsoft agent morons took 5 hours of my life thru 11 different calls, most of them I would just be put on hold for half an hour and then they simply HUNG UP.

The 11th agent was beginning suspecting this key after all sorts of tests, remote control in the computer, key resets thru command line and all sorts of nonsense and told me STILL WITH DOUBTS that this could be a counterfeit product and that this key would just not work, to go to MS website and buy an genuine key. I've pretty much wasted an entire day on this. Thank you. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to hang themselves.
